2023 Chinese Opera Showcase

Enjoy a classic Beijing opera on this 3-hour evening show. Experience this 18th- and 19th-century art form, with richly dressed artists performing opera, song, music, and stunts in the best opera tradition. Be stunned by our musicians and the artists. Be impressed by the stylized performances and characters, and the traditional dances that depict a historical Chinese event or folk tale. The show consists of selections of short pieces from different operas ranging from tragedy to humour and serves as an excellent introduction to the high pitched, loud and stylised singing which is typical of Chinese Operas. The performers dressed in colourful traditional costumes make the show a feast for the eyes.
