Award-winning Queensland performance-makers, Shock Therapy Productions applies their signature contemporary touch to this Greek classic, bringing themes of revenge, betrayal, love and grief to the stage.
Former Barbarian Princess Medea leaves her world behind for the man she loves. On learning that husband Jason, leader of the Argonauts, is planning to marry the younger Glauce, the Greek Princess of Corinth, Medea’s love and passion turns to blind rage. With her place in Greek society already under threat, Medea is banished into exile. This devastating betrayal drives Medea to plot a shocking and calculated revenge on Jason, and wrest control in a society ruled by men.
